DIVE IN THE FLOW OF THE FOLK DANCES

Romiosini

On this website we would like to introduce you to the unique repertoire of our ENSEMBLE and share with you its brightest moments from journeys to multiple destinations worldwide.

We also want to share with you the steps of our educational method in our ACADEMY.

ROMIOSINI is a greek word that describes the CULTURE OF THE EASTERN ROMAN (BYZANTINE) EMPIRE.

For us ROMIOSINI is the combination of the ancient Greece mentality with the love for beauty of the form and perfection of the mind mixed with the strict orthodox Christian tradition were God is being the absolute love providing a highest purpose to the human life through perfection of the soul.

The love for the art of dancing, the respect for the traditions of every nation that we represent on the stage and the dedication to the rehearsal and educational process are the main components of our philosophy.

Our Repertoire

The repertoire of the ensemble contains 2 programs:

The folklore program which is a 1,5 hour concert with more than 80 dancers presenting folk dances of Georgia, North Caucasus, Black Sea regions and Greece.

"The Spartans" show program. It is inspired by the historical battle between the Greeks and the Persians. The whole story appears through dance. The choreography is authentic but based on the folk dances.

Our Training Program

The choreographic training program draws upon over 50 years of teaching experience from Nektarios and Agis Toursidis.

Educational Methodology

Our methodology aims to educate children through their involvement in dance, instilling important values, technical skills, and a cultural background. This helps them become self-disciplined, determined, concurrent, creative individuals with a traditional inheritance.

Self Improvement

A dancer's rehearsal and performance program is an ongoing journey of self-improvement.

Values

Though the traditional dances we can instill important values to our students.

Culture & Tradition

The ensemble's repertoire includes historical and folk dances from the Caucasus, Black Sea, and Eastern Mediterranean regions.
